SUGAR LAND, Texas - A family of five was sent to the hospital early Friday morning following a crash on the western edge of the City of Sugar Land, police said.
The crash happened at 1:15 a.m. on the frontage road for the Southwest Freeway at Grand Parkway.
Police said a white Ford pickup truck traveling southbound on the frontage road slammed into the side of a black four-door hatchback that was traveling northbound on Grand Parkway.
Two adults in the hatchback were sent to the hospital in serious condition. The three children in the car were sent to the hospital in stable condition.
Life Flight was called in to transport at least one of the patients. Others were transported by ambulance.
Police said the driver of the truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Investigators would not say which vehicle ran the red light.
