AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Duncanville remains a perfect team. In fact, make that a perfect state champion.

The Pantherettes won their second straight Texas Class 5A state championship Saturday night with 59-36 rout of Cibolo Steele.

Kiara Perry provided the early spark in Duncanville s 70th consecutive victory, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the first half as the Pantherettes (42-0) built a 20-point lead by the second quarter.

Duncanville s third state title in 10 years was yet another milestone for one of the state s most dominant programs. Duncanville became the first repeat 5A champion since Mansfield won four in a row from 1999-2002.

Perry finished with 20 points and13 rebounds. Ariel Atkins scored 13 for Duncanville.

McKenzie Calvert scored 19 to lead Cibolo Steele (33-6) points.
