Artist Kerry Skarbakka began working on the project The Struggle to Right Oneself as an artistic outlet to deal with the emotional pain and existential insecurity of his mother's death and Sept. 11.

Over the past ten years Skarbakka has used his body as a model and metaphor to represent universal tensions and anxieties associated with being a human.

Skarbakka's work will be displayed at an exhibition entitled Ten Years of Falling at the Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles starting May 25.
