HOUSTON Two Houston Police Department officers accused of stealing and trying to sell drugs made their first appearance in court early Thursday morning.

German Ramos, 36, and Kendrick Ferguson, 33, wore orange jumpsuits as they faced a judge in probable cause court.

Ramos was charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and given a $100,000 bond.

Ferguson was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession ofa controlled substance and his bond wasset at $130,000 on both charges.

The pair was taken into custody Wednesday after investigators said a sting operation caught the officers stealing cocaine and other drugs from an undercover officer posing as a drug dealer.

Ramos and Ferguson are accused of using lights and sirens to pull over the undercover officer. According to court documents, they took a bag containing 18 kilos of cocaine. They then handed the drugs off to a civilian named Alexi Matos, 38.

Court documents also allege Ferguson tried to sell drugs to an undercover officer in the past.

HPD says Ramos and Ferguson were in the same 2009 cadet class and theyworked togetherin the northwest substation.
