HOUSTON -- It looks like the high school football playoffs will go on as scheduled in Texas as a dispute between referees and the state organization that regulates high school sports heads to court.

This year, the University Interscholastic League ordered all varsity referees to register with the University Interscholastic League by Nov. 1.

The Texas Association of Sports Officials is crying foul and is suing the UIL. The TASO is worried about extra registration fees, even though the UIL says there won t be any at least not immediately.

They took the agency to court and a judge has just ruled that he will hear the case next month.

That means the Nov. 1 deadline has been abandoned, but the issue could come up again this spring.
