DFW AIRPORT Adrianne Fore waited for the plane that brought her nephew home one last time.
I've cried all day, she said. An amazing young man that we can only hope to be as strong and as giving as he was.
Lance Cpl. Mark Boterf, 21, was shot to death accidentally last week at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
Bill Kushnir had never met the Marine from Crowley, but wishes he had.
He was obviously a hero, dedicated to the Marines, dedicated to his family, Kushnir said.
Kushnir was one of about 50 Patriot Guard Riders who assembled at the airport Wednesday to escort Boterf's body back home.
We re just privileged to do it, Kushnir said.
Just before seven o'clock, as the sun hung low, Boterf's casket arrived. The Patriot Guard Riders then followed his body to a funeral home in Fort Worth. Family and friends drove behind.
Messages of love and admiration for the young man were painted on the car windows.
He would do anything for anybody... and anything he did, he did with all his heart, his aunt said.
It's a legacy anyone would be lucky to leave behind.
