LOSANGELES -- ESPN honored Robin Roberts with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award during the ESPYs ceremony Wednesday night.

Roberts, ESPN's first black female sportscaster, is being awarded for informing the public of her battle against two dangerous illnesses.

Roberts underwent treatment for breast cancer in 2007, and last year underwent a bone marrow transplant from Sally-Ann to treat a rare blood disorder.

WWL-TV's own Sally-Ann Roberts was present for the ceremony as well.
