SAN ANTONIO -- An Air Force captain from Boerne was killed along with two others in a plane crash in Afghanistan.
According to the Department of Defense, Captain Mark T. Voss, 27, was on a mission assisting operations when the plane reportedly went down 100 miles west of Manas Air Force Base in Kyrgyzstan.
Voss was part of the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron based at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington.
Eyewitness first reported the plane exploded while it was in the air, but no official cause had been determined.
The other two onboard the plane were from southern California.
