MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas Authorities continued their search Monday for Britt Chadvurn Privatte, a prisoner who escaped from the Montgomery County Jail early Sunday afternoon.

Lt. Dan Norris with the Montgomery County Sheriff s Office said officers discovered that Privatte was missing around 1 p.m. and began an immediate search of the exterior and surrounding areas of the jail.

Privatte, 40, was last seen in the recreation yard of the facility, Norris said. There have been sightings of Privatte in a wooded area near the jail.

Deputies said that he actually got help scaling the wall of the facility from a couple of inmates, and either managed to get over the fence enclosing the yard or got down from the roof to make his escape.

Authorities said that he could still be wearing nothing more than a long-sleeved shirt and some boxer shorts.

The prisoner should be considered dangerous, Norris said. He had been arrested by the Houston Police Department on Jan. 7 along with two other suspects in connection with a bank robbery in the Kingwood area.

Privatte is charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, escape while arrested, burglary of a habitation and order of arrest in connection with four different cases in three counties.

Anyone with information on Privatte s whereabouts, please call 936-760-5800 (Option 3).
