NEDERLAND, Texas (AP) -- Funeral is set in Southeast Texas for a Houston man killed when al-Qaida-affiliated militants attacked a remote natural gas plant in the Algerian desert.
Victor Lovelady s family says the contract worker for BP PLC is to arrive back in Southeast Texas on Saturday.
A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland, a suburb of Beaumont and Port Arthur. A visitation is scheduled for Monday evening at the church.
The 57-year-old Texan left Jan. 7 for his second stint in Algeria. The Ain Amenas plant in the Sahara Desert was attacked last week, prompting a bloody four-day standoff. A total of 37 hostages were killed, and five remain missing.
Two other Americans fellow Texan Frederick Buttaccio and Gordon Lee Rowan also died.
