HOUSTON Two men are in custody and up to four others may be on the run after authorities said they kidnapped a resident from their home early Saturday morning in north Harris County, according to a press release from the sheriff s office.
At 4:30 a.m., Harris County Precinct 4 Constable s deputies responded to a 911 call at a residence located at the 6900 block of Foxbrook Lane, the release stated.
The caller said that a group of armed men had taken a family member hostage and were demanding money for their safe return, the release stated.
The suspects fled with the victim in a late model Jeep Liberty, the release stated.
Deputy constables spotted the vehicle and took pursuit. During the chase, the suspects crashed the Jeep and fled on foot, the release stated.
Authorities set a perimeter near the crash site at FM 1960 and Louetta Drive, the release stated. The sheriff s High Risk Operations Unit was called in to assist with the search for the suspects, who were thought to be armed with handguns and long rifles.
The special unit was able to provide cover for K-9 units tracking the suspects, the release stated.
Authorities were able to capture two of the fleeing suspects and the victim was returned home unharmed.
