HOUSTON Heading out the door early this morning you could already feel the effects of a cool front moving through southeast Texas, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

The cool temps will feel evenlower due to a slight wind chill factor.

Grab the jackets because you re going to be surprised by how cool these temperatures stay throughout the day, said Johnson. These temperatures are going to continue to drop into the upper-50s and low-60s by lunchtime.

The forecast high Friday is 64 degrees. Many areas north of the city saw strong thunderstorms in the early morning hours, but most of the city will only see a 20-percent chance for rain.

Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy with overnight lows around 50-degrees and daytime highs in the mid-60s.

The cooler temps hang around into next week but will rise into the mid-70s by Wednesday.
