LONDON It was sarcastically described as pure enthusiasm from a 2012 Olympics worker in London, and now that enthusiasm has racked up more than a million views online.
YouTube user ollygourley uploaded the video on July 27 when the games were first getting underway.
It shows a worker with a megaphone trying to encourage the crowd with a very dry sense of humor, which the uploader described as genius.
With a very monotone delivery, the unidentified female worker welcomed visitors to the opening ceremony.
Welcome to the official Olympic opening ceremony, she said. The gates are open 2012, it will begin who s excited?
One person in the crowd cheered, and a few passerbys chuckled.
Yes, thank you, single lady, is all the worker replied with.
