LEAGUE CITY, Texas A major rupture in League City s water line was fixed Friday night after residents had been placed under severe water restrictions for a day, according to city authorities.

By Saturday morning, residents had been moved from a Stage 3 Drought Contingency Plan to a Stage 1, which calls for voluntary water conservation.

Crews flushed the water main and treated it for public health after repairs Friday night.

No residents had to go without water since the problem started Thursday, but the situation was not without its drawbacks.

I m moving from apartment to apartment and I m not going to be able to shower when I m through, said Clifton McClaine. The toilets, they won t flush. Takes a few times.

People say they really notice the problem because League City has a good reputation for pressure with pumps all over the place.

Sprinkler system, it d be noticeable, real noticeable. When you turn on your sprinkler, they re not going to spray in the air like they should, said John Alff of Gulf Coast Sprinklers.

Some residents said they haven t noticed a thing during the crisis.

I m grateful. Hope no one else is suffering significant water issues, said Douglas Huges.

The City is drawing water from two wells and is receiving additional water from the Gulf Coast Water Authority.
