HOUSTON A Crosby teenis facinga capital murder charge in the shooting death of an Atascocita man who was gunned down in his driveway earlier this week.

Donnie Frye s wife and young daughter found his body Tuesday around 1 a.m. outside their home in the 19900 block of Pine Wind.

Giovanni Mora, 18, has been charged with capital murder in Frye s death.

Mora told police he and an unidentified accomplice followed Frye home because they wanted his car, according to court documents.

One of them allegedly shot Frye because he didn t turn over his keys quickly enough. Fingerprints on Frye's car led them to Mora.

Mora was out on parole after a stint in prison for another robbery. He was released in December of 2010 after serving half of a two-year sentence. He also had a previous conviction on a drug charge.

If convicted of capital murder in Frye s death, Mora would face life in prison or the death penalty.

Word of his arrest came as a relief to neighbors in Atascocita.

It makes me feel at peace as a neighbor, but it still doesn t justify what happened to him, said Justin Howell.

Hopefully, it s the right guy, said Ronnie Koonce, another neighbor. Hopefully, he ll get what s coming to him.

Hours before Frye s body was found, the 41-year-old father of three had gone to Walgreens to return a movie. His wife became concerned when she woke up and realized he wasn t there and that s when she found the body.

More than 200 neighbors gathered in the Pinehurst community in Atascocita Thursday night to hold a prayer vigil for Frye s family.

Friends said Frye was a family man, an avid golfer and a vice president at DHL, a shipping company.

Mora was being held in the Harris County Jail without bond Friday.
