WASHINGTON - Blair LLC is expanding a recall to include more products made of a highly flammable material.
The recall includes full lengthwomen's chenille robes, women's chenille jackets, women's chenille lounge jackets, and women's chenille tops.
The company has received four more reports of deaths linked to the robes, according to an announcement Thursday from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. That brings the total amount of deaths to nine.
The products were originally recalled in April, when the company learned that three robes had caught on fire. Most of the deaths linked to the full-length robes happened when the victims were cooking.
This robe is highly flammable, flames travel quickly up the robe, said Scott Wolfson, a spokesman for the CPSC.
The recalled products were sold in Blair catalogs, online and at Blair stores in Warren, Pa.; Grove City, Pa.; and Wilmington, Del., from July 2000 through April 2007.
