HOUSTON -- Mayme Tanner, a member of WASP(Women Air Force Service Pilots) celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family surrounding her on July 25, 2014. Apioneer in the U.S. armed forces, Tanner was one of the first females to fly in the Air Force and paved the way for women that serve in the military today.Among other things, she was given a U.S. flag that flew at the state capitol, as well as a sealed letter from the White House thanking her for her sevice to her country.
