HOUSTON -- Former Houston-based hand surgeon Michael Brown has pleaded guilty to assaulting or intimidating a flight crew member.

Brown was arrested in January after choking a flight attendant and threatening to strip naked during a flight from London to Miami.

His lawyer claims he had a bad reaction to insomnia medication.

The government is recommending that Brown be sentenced to two years supervised release and a $5,000 fine.
