NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- The body of a 6-year-old San Antonio boy was recovered from the Comal River on Monday morning.
According to a press release, the New Braunfels Fire Department Dive Teams found the boy's body around 8:40 a.m. in the area of Prince Solms Park.
The deceased has been identified as Xabier Martinez.
His body was found about 25 feet from the shore line, police said, not far from where he was last seen playing in the water on Sunday.
The fire department had dive teams in the water on Saturday but could not find the boy in the murky water. The Department of Public Safety also helped by searching the river by helicopter.
According to the press release, Prince Solms Park and the Comal River remain open.
