HOUSTON -- The Boston Globe writer who put out an article blasting the Texans is offering no apologies. Columnist Dan Shaughnessy says he stands by his words but wants the Texans to prove him wrong.

The column that was published on Sunday went as far to call the Texans the worst 11-1 team in the history of the NFL.

You ve got a team in Houston that is not being taken seriously by New England. I m not saying everyone is as strong about it as I am, but I don t think Patriots fans are worried about this game, Dan Shaughnessy told KHOU 11 News in a phone interview.

Here s a portion of what Shaughnessy wrote:

The 2012-13 New England Patriots just became the first team in NFL history to get back-to-back byes before advancing to the conference championship game.

Could this get any easier?

I mean, seriously? The planets are aligned and the tomato cans are in place. The fraudulent Houston Texans are the only team standing between the New England Patriots and a trip to the AFC Championship game. All the Patriots have to do is beat the terrible Texans. One week from Sunday. At Gillette Stadium.

Even star running back Arian Foster took notice of the column slamming the Texans. He changed his Twitter profile picture to an image of the first three paragraphs of what was published in the Globe.

Good for him. He seems like a smart guy, and obviously he s a great player. It s very flattering. I m surprised they care what we think, explained Shaughnessy.

Shaughnessy is predicting a blowout on the field.

Clearly in the real world there s always a chance, anything can happen. In my world, my belief is that they have no chance. I see no way of them coming out on top, added Shaughnessy.

Texans fans who have read the article hope the negativity only fuels their team to come out on top.

They smashed our mouths the first time, and we re gonna smash their mouths this time. They can talk all the smack they want!, said Texans fan Peter Ream.
