HOUSTON The owner of a Texas firm accused of illegally selling military-grade electronics to Russia will have a hearing in Houston to determine whether he can be released on bail.

Alexander Fishenko, the owner of Arc Electronics Inc., and seven of his employees were arrested last week on charges they were illegally selling to Russian military and intelligence agencies cutting-edge microelectronics. Fishenko and three of his employees are to appear before a judge in Houston on Wednesday.

Authorities say the microelectronics Arc sold had a range of military uses, including radar and surveillance systems, weapons guidance systems and detonation triggers.

An FBI agent testified Friday that employees at the Houston company hid information from the U.S. manufacturers they were purchasing the goods from, before illegally reselling the products to Russian agencies.
