HOUSTON Houston police are searching for the driver who ran over a homeless man sleeping on a freeway feeder in southeast Houston early Friday.

Police said the man was asleep on a curb on the Gulf Freeway feeder road at Scott Street when someone ran over his legsaround 12:30 a.m.

The driver was apparently turning left from Scott onto the feeder road and did not see the man on the curb. Police said there was a road construction scene where he was lying,which may have blocked their view.

The driver didn't stop.

The homeless man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.
