HOUSTON -- One of the most famous photographs in United States history is now gracing the V.A. Medical Center in Houston.

Famous World War II kissing sailor donates poster to VA Medical Center
June 16, 2009

It's a gift from Glenn McDuffie. He's the sailor, seen the world over, kissing a nurse in Times Square on the day Japan surrendered to the United States in 1945.

"I ran out into the street. I was kissing her and someone ran up on us," said McDuffie.

McDuffie donated a large signed poster to the VA Medical Center Tuesday morning.

He also signed smaller versions for people gathered at the event.
