HOUSTON -- Houston police have released a suspect sketch as they investigate a fatal shooting that happened near Greenspoint Mall.

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at 12400 Greenspoint at about 12:20 a.m. on July 18.

They found the victim, Khalil Brown, 17, of Houston, lying in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a possible suspect was last seen going toward the Premier Theater. The suspect is described only as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, who wore a wide, flat silver necklace.

Investigators said they also learned that individuals were in the parking lot near the theater when the shooting occurred. Any witnesses who left at the time of the shooting are asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
