HOUSTON The mother of a 5-year-old boy found malnourished and beaten inside the stairway closet of home in Spring says the victim s father didn t allow her to see her son.
Investigators said the child was found in his diaper in the small closet by his 16-year -old brother at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 21500 block of Castlemont. The teen confronted his father Bradley Bleimeyer and they got into a fist fight. Deputies have arrested and charged Bradley Bleimeyer and the victim s stepmother Tammi Bleimeyer with felony child endangerment.
Investigators said the boy weighs about 30 pounds and was found with his bones popping out and skin peeling off his back.
Now the child s biological mother is trying to get custody of her only son. She has been visiting the child as he remains in a hospital.
It was the most amazing thing. It was like giving birth again, it was amazing, he knew who I was. I tried not to cry, I have to be strong for him, said Windy Hall, the boy's biological mother.
For two years, Hall said she wasn't allowed to see her son.
This has been a long and hard struggle for me and my family. I know it's nothing compared to what my little boy has been through. He's been through a lot and I want him to know that mommy is never going to leave him. Nothing can explain the torture and pain. I had nightmares. For so long, I wake up crying, said Hall.
The boy has been telling his grandmother heartbreaking stories from his hospital bed. She said he was fed once a day.
He had a little mattress, he was kept locked up, he was given drugs to make him sleep when people would come to their home so he wouldn t make any noise. He was locked up under that stairwell. In a separate room. His daddy hitting him. He can't cry when the other children took his food. He was fed a piece of bread and a cup of water or milk a day. When he gets to eat food, he looks around at people because he thinks they're going to take his food, said the boy's biological grandmother Jacqueline Hall.
Family members said they think the boy was living in those conditions for one year.
Now the boy's relatives are thanking the 16-year-old stepbrother for making the discovery.
I just want to tell everyone thank you so much for opening their hearts. It's the best feeling in the world. He wants me to sleep in the bed with him every night. Every time I walk out of the room, he looks and looks, I say, Don't worry baby, I m coming back, said Hall.
The boy s father was in jail with no bond, and the victim's stepmother's bond was set at $2,000.
A custody hearing will be held on April 21st. In the meantime, relatives have set up a Facebook page for the little boy: Toy Drive for Baby Boy Bleimeyer.
