FORT WORTH Attention gamers, tech fiends and parents working on Christmas lists: You're about to be very jealous of 14-year-old Joshua Garza.
This Fort Worth freshman wanted the the hottest gift of the holiday season, an Xbox One.
I'd been saving up for it all summer, he said.
Joshua decided not to wait for Santa, and instead pre-ordered the updated gaming system from Target to be delivered after its release date on November 22.
But then Christmas came WAY early.
I ordered it November 4th on Monday, and I received it Thursday November 7th, he said. I'm like, 'No! It doesn't come out for like two weeks!' I was completely shocked.
Tech bloggers estimate Joshua is one of about 150 who received the Microsoft's new gaming system ahead of its release.
As big as Microsoft is, when we started playing, we were listening for helicopters, joked Scott Horton, Joshua s stepfather.
All the Xbox Ones were sent out by Target in what the company calls a computer glitch.
But even though Joshua has it hooked up, he can't do much with it. The system isn't connecting, and probably won't for the next 11 days, until the official date of sale.
But when it does, Joshua Garza and dozens of his closest friends who keep coming over to visit will have their thumbs at the ready.
I guess I'll just wait and see what happens! But I'm very eager to play it, Joshua said.
