ST. PETERS, Mo. -- A suburban St. Louis man is accused of trying to stab a woman in a dispute over a wet cellphone.

Authorities say 24-year-old Trevor Wade Livingtston of St. Peters was at the home of an acquaintance Saturday when he found his cellphone in a small puddle of water on the kitchen counter. That prompted an argument with another man.

When a woman intervened, Livingston allegedly threatened to shoot the woman. Witnesses say he tried to stab her with a pair of scissors and tried to choke her.

Livingston is charged with second-degree assault and jailed on $100,000 cash-only bond.
