HOUSTON There is a baby boom underway at the Houston SPCA. They ve welcomed three new foals, with four more on the way.

The latest foal was born Friday morning and named Tanya.

Houston SPCA cruelty investigators found her mother with a severe gunshot in February.

SPCA veterinarians were able to successfully remove the bone fragments and prevent infection to give the beautiful mare and her baby a second chance.

The other mothers are from a large-scale rescue operation in Falls County, Texas earlier this year.
