HOUSTON Two drivers were hospitalized early Tuesday after their pickups collided in southwest Houston, according to Houston firefighters.

A man was driving a pickup truck southbound on Boone, just past Beechnut, when he veered into oncoming traffic and slammed into the back of another pickup around 1 a.m.

The man in the first pickup then crashed into a guardrail over a bayou.Luckily, the guardrail stopped him from going into the water, but he did get trapped inside the vehicle.

The trapped man had to be cut out of the wreckage by HFD.

He and the man driving the other pickup were both transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
