HOUSTON -- A 26-year-old Texas woman has come forward to say she corresponded with Rep. Anthony Weiner, the New York Congressman who confessed Mondayto sendinglewd Twitter photos to women he d never met.
Meagan Broussard, who lives in Beaumont, according to records, wrote about her alleged cyber-relationship with Weiner on a website called biggovernment.com.
Broussarddescribes herself as a single mom and full-time college student who served in the Army.
Broussard said Weiner introduced himself over Facebook chat after she liked a video of him standing up for the 9/11 first responders. She commented that the video was hot.
They began chatting every day, according to Broussard.
I have nothing against Rep. Weiner. I think he was intrigued by me because I am different than the people he normally meets, Broussard wrote. I don t know why he opened up to me in certain ways, but that s the best explanation I have.
He was trying to get me to talk about myself sexually, and I said, straight up, I m not an open book. I was real blunt, Broussard wrote.
Broussard said she was skeptical about whether it was actually Rep. Weiner corresponding with her, so she asked him to send a photo.
He did. She didn t say whether it was lewd.
Talking to him was sometimes a turn-off because he was so open and just so full of himself, as if he were looking, searching for something, Broussard wrote.
Broussard said she came forward because she wanted to tell her own story without worrying about the facts getting twisted. She said she doesn t think Weiner is a horrible person.
All of this still makes me really nervous. I live in a small town. I don t want this and all the anxiety that comes with it, she wrote. I just hope to be left in peace.
