HARRIS COUNTY, Texas Deputies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the parking lot of a northwest Harris County school.

Around 6 a.m. deputies were called to the Lola Mae Carter Academy in the 3100 block of Fallbrook Drive. Detectives from Harris County were quick to call it a murder, but said little more.

A custodian at the school said that she and her mother were coming in to work Monday morning and discovered the body. She said it was dark and there was no one else around.

The victim was wearing a T-shirt with tennis shoes and shorts, and his chest was clearly covered in blood, the witness said. There were no vehicles nearby.

People who worked across the street said they were baffled by the fact that no one heard or saw anything; not even their security guard.

We have security all night but he didn t see anything out of the ordinary, so there s no telling how long it s been there, said Leo Ramirez. Maybe it happened elsewhere because my guy would ve heard the gunshot and he didn t hear anything.

Ramirez said it s a loud street where gunshots and street racing can often be heard.
