HARRIS COUNTY, Texas An early-morning fire burned part of a flea market on the county s northside.

Firefighters were called to the 8800 block of Airline Drive around 5 a.m. Thursday. Some people who live on the property in mobile homes called 911.

When the fire department arrived, firefighters found the Sin Ta Flea Market heavily engulfed in flames.

Firefighters initially reported having issues getting water on the blaze due to a lack of hydrants.

The fire hydrant was quite a distance away. The fire department at first set up a water supply shuttle with tanker trucks until they could get the static line set up with the fire hydrant down the street, Lt. Chad Shaw with Harris County Fire Marshal s Office As of 6:30 a.m. flames were still shooting from the building, and Airline Drive remained blocked in both directions. The road was reopened several hours later.

In all, about 10 booths were destroyed, but there were no injuries reported.

Authorities have a few theories about a cause.

They definitely have electrical to the facility. They have you know food vendors here throughout the week, I m guessing. Obviously, people in and out here so at this point we really cannot rule out anything, Shaw said.
