HOUSTON -- Houston police responded to an alarm call early Friday that was triggered when someone broke into Brookline Elementary School.

The school is located on Real Street at Markley Street in southeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, it was around 2 a.m. when someone busted in a window at the school. When officers arrived, the suspect or suspects were already gone.

An officer at the scene said it wasn t known if anyone took anything from inside the school. HPD said school staff would have to look around and see if anything was taken.

Police performed a brief search of the area, but no suspects were found.
