PEARLAND -- Police have arrested the man they say robbed a U.S. Postal worker earlier this week in Pearland.

Pearland police say Derelle Marquis Hollins, 19, was taken into custody around 2:45 p.m. Thursday at his home in the 5400 block of Beldart in Houston.

Officials say Monday evening, Hollins approached a mail carrier who was delivering mail in the 12300 block of Shady Brook in the Shadow Creek Ranch subdivision in Pearland.

Hollins had a handgun and demanded the victim's wallet. After taking the victim s money, Hollins ran away and was believed to have left the area in a dark blue Hyundai Sonata with paper tags.

Police say it was Hollins vehicle that led them to his identity.

On Wednesday, an alert witness reported to police that she had seen a vehicle matching the description driving northbound on Cullen.

Hollins has been charged with Aggravated Robbery, a first degree felony.

Officials believe Hollins is also responsible for the January 24 burglary of his grandfather s residence in the 11300 block of Starlight Bay. Hollins was also charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony.
