HOUSTON -- Houston police robbery detectives say two men have been terrorizing employees at auto parts stores all over the city.
In surveillance video obtained from police, you can see the suspects walk in just before 9 p.m. HPD Robbery Sgt. Tony Guzman told KHOU 11 News the suspects always strike just before closing time.
They make sure no customers are in there and then they would pose as customers and ask for a part and walk up to the register, Sgt. Guzman said.
That's when one of the suspects pulls out a gun and demands money from the registers. Another suspect then puts on a pair of gloves and demands that the employees to take them to the safe.
Their faces are very clearly seen. I'm hoping someone, somebody in the public will recognize them and call Crime Stoppers, Sgt. Guzman told KHOU 11 News.
The suspects have hit nine stores since October, but they could be responsible for more than a dozen.
One lost prevention officer with one of the chains told KHOU 11 Newshe's been tracking the two men since July when they allegedly robbed several stores in the New Orleans area. They may have held up stores in Mississippi too, but now they are back in Houston. They allegedly held up two stores last weekend.
Both suspects appear to be tall and weighing around 200 pounds. They appear to be in their late 30's or early 40's. Click on the video to see if you recognize them.
If you have any information you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. You could be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
