HOUSTON -- Robertson Stadium is a step closer to coming down.
Joe Chastang won a bid to be able to kick off the demolition of the stadium at the University of Houston. The demo started Monday morning.
Chastang said he used to play high school football in the stadium and that it was fun to be a part of tearing it down.
The total demolition is expected to last up to eight weeks.
UH plans to build a new stadium in the same location for the start of the 2014 football season. It has not yet been announced where the Cougars will play their 2013 season.
