HOUSTON -- Acrash involving injuries blocked all northbound main lanes of Highway 288, the South Freeway, on Wednesday morning.
All inbound traffic wasdiverted off the freeway at U.S. 59. for an hour starting around 6:30 a.m.,according to Houston TranStar. A traffic backup of four to five miles was reported.
Aerial views from Air 11 showed a sport utility vehicle up against a concrete barrier of the freeway. An EMScrew was working to remove a patient from the SUV.
Officials reopened the freeway just after 7:30 a.m.
A second crash occurred at the same site when a passing car struck the back ofa parked fire truck, according to TranStar. It was not known if there were any injuriesresulting fromthe second crash.
