HOUSTON The next few days will be hot as ever, but the good news is that by the beginning of next week we should be seeing our first taste of fall.

There s nary a shower out there. We will not see rain today or for the next couple of days as the heat stays with us, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul.

It felt as hot as 105 degrees in Katy this afternoon, and the high temperature for Thursday will be 98.

There is a 40% chance of scattered showers on Saturday, when temperatures will cool down into the 80s for Sunday and into next week.

As for the tropics, if the remnants of Isaac reform, the storm will be renamed Nadine and current projections have it moving east over Florida due to a cold front.
