HOUSTON A local mom was dead and her family was looking for answers Tuesdayafter what police believe was a robbery in a condominium parking lot.

It happened around 4 a.m. at a complex on Forum Park Drive, near Sugar Branch Drive.

Police said Tarvette Devon Baugh, 36, had just pulled into the parking lot and was getting out of her vehicle when she was approached by several suspects.

There was apparently a struggle, and at some point during the confrontation, one of the suspects opened fire.

Baugh, the mother of a 3-year-old son, was shot multiple times in the chest and died at the scene.

But while police believe robbery may have been the motive for the shooting, Baugh s family members said they want investigators to take a close look at someone she had a personal relationship with.

Investigators would not confirm if that person had been ruled out as a suspect Tuesday afternoon.

But regardless of who pulled the trigger, Baugh s family said they wantthe shooterbehind bars.

If someone knows something, please tell police. She was a great person. She was a great person, Baugh s cousin, Catina Petitt, said.

Police said there have been at least two other robberies in the area that were similar to Baugh s case.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
