HOUSTON U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials were warning international travelers Friday not to bring any Kinder Surprise eggs into the U.S.
Also known as Kinder Eggs, the chocolate treats are considered too dangerous for kids to be imported legally into the States.
The problem is, the eggs contain a small plastic toy inside a hollow chocolate shell. While sold legally in many countries, health officials in the U.S. have deemed the small toys a choking hazard.
Last year, CBP officials seized more than 60,000 Kinder Eggs from travelers baggage and international mail shipments more than twice the number seized the year before.
