HOUSTON Two people were killed Tuesdayin a fiery crash in northwest Houston.

It happened around 9 a.m. onHighway 249near FM 1960.

Investigatorssaid a UPS truck crashed into the back of a car andboth vehicles burst into flames. The car ended up under the truck and both people inside were killed.

The names of the man and woman have not been released.

A witness said it appeared the car had stalled inone of the main lanes and had itshazard lights flashing.

The UPS driver got out safely and wasn't injured.

The northbound lanes of Highway 249were shut down at Gessner for several hours while crews worked to clear the wreckage.

They reopened in time for rush hour.

The cause of the accidentis under investigation.
