SPRING, Texas -- Fire investigators still don t know the cause of a fire that killed a mother of two in Spring early Saturday morning.

Sloan Nagy, a kindergarten teacher at Hoyland Elementary, was found dead on a couch in the home on Whispering Willow Drive.

Officials believe the fire somehow ignited in the garage and spread through the entire home.

There s so many answers I want...why she didn t get out, why the house caught on fire, said cousin Briana Watson.

Family members say Nagy had just come home from a neighbor s party after a celebratory night.

Her husband was still at that party, and their children were spending the weekend at their grandparents.

We don t understand it. It s just not understandable, said mother Tammy Johnson. It s not real. It s like a dream.

The home was engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene.

Authorities confirm a neighbor was arrested outside the home for public intoxication, and Harris County Fire Marshals are now looking to speak with him.

The information that s been released doesn t provide any concrete answers for Nagy s family.

We re just anxious to know what caused it, said sister Britney Brazell. She loved her children. She loved the kids she taught in school. She wanted to do right by everybody.

Ironically, KHOU met Sloan Nagy and her family last year.

That story had a happy ending.

The family s dog, Timber, woke up in time after a fire at the same home.

Timber was put down just three days before this recent fire because of cancer.

If we had just waited and not encouraged her to say goodbye, would timber have been here to save her again?, asked sister Britney Brazell.

Nagy s family is trying to hold it together for her husband and her two kids.

The fire destroyed almost everything at the home, even the two cars that were parked outside.

There s nothing. No cars. He doesn t even have a way to work. There s nothing, added mother Tammy Johnson.

A fundraiser is being organized for March 22, beginning at 1 p.m. at Racks Bar and Grill on Kuykendahl Road.

The family has also set up an account for donations. Click here for more information.

A visitation will be held Friday at 6 p.m. and the funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Both will take place at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E. Crockett, Cleveland, Texas.
