HOUSTON - Something that s always fascinated me about athletics is the fact that elite athletes are put on a pedestal from the time they re very young. They re coddled, admired. They re the studs in high school and in college and they re on a higher pedestal.
If they turn pro they ve got money, adulation, basically whatever they want, the world is theirs. The one thing most athletes don t realize is that it will end in their 20 s or 30 s and all of sudden all the perks, money, and adulation is gone.
Former Oilers quarterback Dan Pastorini fell and fell hard. I sat down with the Houston legend to talk about how he was able to bounce back from a very dark place.
