HARRIS COUNTY, Texas A Friday morning home invasion sent a teenager to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his stomach and leg, deputies said.

According to the Harris County Sheriff s Office, it happened around 7 a.m. in the 4800-block of Debeney Drive near Mac Naughton Drive.

Deputies said four suspects rushed into a home where a mother and her two teenage sons were sleeping. The suspects shot one of the sons, a 17-year-old, multiple times and then fled the scene.

The wounded teen was sent to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

Church friends arrived at the home to comfort the teen s mom, who was visibly upset.

As part of the investigation, sheriff s deputies tested the teenager and his mom for gunshot residue. They said the testing was routine.

A neighbor told KHOU 11 News the family s father owns a remodeling business, and he was out of town at the time of the invasion.

It wasn t immediately known what the motive for the invasion was.
