HOUSTON One woman was arrested and another died Sunday in a car crash involving a stopped police vehicle, according to authorities.

Around 2 a.m., a Houston police officer was driving west on Richmond when she paused to make a rightturn ontoJarvis.A car occupied by two women then allegedly approachedfrom behind andside swiped the driver s side corner.

The car reportedly veered off across a median and came to a stop in a parking lot.

Police say the woman on the passenger side was hanging out of the window at the time of the accident and when the car went across the median, her body struck a palm tree. Aresha Griffin, 21, died at the scene.

The driver of the car, 29-year-oldToccara Victoria Dubose,is now facing intoxication manslaughter charges. She is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

The involved officer was not injured.
