HOUSTON A Houston man whose sexual offenses have progressed steadily over the last few years was taken off the streets and sits in a Harris County jail with no bond, according to the Harris County District Attorney s Office.

John Russell Skiles, 51, is charged with attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure.

According to court documents, Skiles has a number of offenses dating back to 2007 and has recently gotten more aggressive.

He has been convicted of lewd behavior five times in the past, was charged with indecent exposure for an act he committed this year on April 5 and took it a step further on July 1. That time, he attempted to sexually assault a woman by pulling her toward his exposed body parts.

On August 18, investigators said Skiles exposed himself again to a person in public.

He will now be confined to a jail cell until his case is settled.
