CONROE, Texas A man s wild rampage ended with a 7-year-old injured by bullet fragments and a police officer hurt in a crash.

Around 5:30 a.m. on Avenue J Place near MLK, the suspect s daughter Markeshia Willis was sleeping and her son was on the couch in another room.

That s when her father Willie Cleveland Sr. showed up and fired three shots at the front door, she told police.

A fragment from one of the bullets lodged into the 7-year-old s foot.

Authorities say that Cleveland then bulldozed a Conroe detective s car during a brief chase, pushing the patrol car into a ditch and in the process, Cleveland narrowly missed a house.

The detective suffered minor injuries but is expected to be okay.

Willis says her family has been calling police about her father for some time, telling them that he is a danger.

He was apparently enraged that his wife had left him.

Willis couldn t be more relieved to have her own father behind bars. She says he s a dangerous and abusive person and has been physically and verbally attacking family members since last Saturday.

It s a sigh of relief right now, but I don t know what to make of it. I don t know what to tell you he was thinking. I m 37 years old, that s my father. These are his grandchildren, said Willis. For him to shoot into the house and actually injure one of his grandchildren, I don t know what to make of that.
