HOUSTON - Firefighters responded to a townhome complex near NASA early Friday where a fire heavily damaged one unit.

The fire was reported shortly before 3 a.m. on Kings Park Lane near E. NASA Parkway, according to the Houston Fire Department.

HFD said firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the townhome. They managed to quickly put out the fire.

A neighbor said the fire may have started with a bathroom ceiling vent that was left running. The townhome was empty and was being renovated at the time, according to HFD.

No injuries were reported.
