HOUSTON An employee was shot Friday afternoon during a robbery at a check cashing store in northeast Houston, police said.

According to police, three to four masked crooks pulled up to a check cashing store located near Jensen at Bennington.

The robbers rounded up the employees and stole the money.

Two employees slipped out the back door. One employee grabbed a pipe and smashed a window of the robbers getaway car as they made their escape.

The employee was shot in the shoulder.

Police used dogs to track the robbers, but they were only able to find the getaway car.

The employee was in good condition at the hospital.
