SAN ANTONIO -- A two-alarm fire broke out around 2:50 Friday morning in the 800 block of North Pine at a historic home.

Arson investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started. There were no injuries. More than two dozen units responded.

Flames were shooting from the basement to the attic through the roof.

The home was 4500 square feet and most of the damage was to the rear of the home.

SAFD said because the home is a historic home the wood is old and added fuel to the fire. The home was being remodeled.

The home used to belong to the Staffel family who owned the Staffel Feed and Seed founded in1890, near the Rivercenter Mall.

Five months earlier a fire broke out a church at the 900 block of North Pine. Investigators do not think the two are related.
